Gauchos take 3 of 4 from UC San Diego and improve to 24-10 (15-5 BigWest). For this week's pod we decided to revisit the pregame interviews from the weekend series with RF Zach Rodriguez (32:01), 3b Cole Cummings (40:02) & SS Jordan Sprinkle (45:07) who were some of the offensive heroes vs the Tritons, plus we pass out Week 9 awards with UCSB Analytics.

We're halfway through the 2021 season and the Gauchos sit 1 game back of first place in the BigWest Conference at 12-4, 21-9 overall. Gerry Fall joins us once again to review the first half and discuss the weekend series win vs CSUN. The UCSB Baseball Analytics jumps on to offer their weekend awards.

UCSB (18-8, 9-3 in BigWest) gains ground on UC Irvine after winning 3 of 4 games in Honolulu vs the Rainbow Warriors. Michael McGreevy earns Big West Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing a CG SHO on Friday. Gauchos get key contributions offensively from Zach Rodriguez, Bryce Willits, Christian Kirtley, and Jordan Sprinkle plus fine starts by Rodney Boone and JD Callahan. Shane Bieber and Dillon Tate make their MLB season debuts.

Gauchos improve to 15-7 (6-2 BigWest) after sweeping UC Davis in four games over the weekend. Rodney Boone earns BigWest Pitcher of the Week (for the second time in 2021) after throwing a CG SHO in Game 3. Zach Rodriguez stays hot with 2 opposite field home runs on Sunday to help the Gauchos complete the sweep. UCSB Analytics is here to review the weekend and look forward to this weeks series in Hawaii.

With their 11-4 win on Saturday, the Gauchos secured the 300th career win for Head Coach Andrew Checketts who is our first guest on this week's pod as we discuss the weekend series split with Cal State Fullerton and talk about some of the best wins of the last 10 years. Then UCSB Analytics reviews what was an impressive weekend at the plate for the Gauchos.
