The Gauchos return home with 4 wins after a 4-game 7-day road trip to St. Mary's and UC Davis, they improve to 16-5 (5-1 BigWest) and get set to finish the road stint Tuesday night vs UCLA. This week we open with stats, figures and trends from this week and the season overall, a preview of UCLA and Hawaii, some dramatic game highlights and interviews with Jason Willow, Blake Klassen, Zander Darby, Jordan Sprinkle & Vol. Coach Spencer Erdman.

This week we have game highlights plus a chat with the great Gerry Fall about the start of the season and his impressions on thie2022 squad. Gauchos take 2 of 3 games from Cal State Fullerton to kick off BigWest Conference play. Cory Lewis and Mikey Gutierrez provided another strong showing on the mound and they were led by Jordan Sprinkle and Jason Willow who had breakout weekends with the bats. UCSB starts a 5 game road trip at St. Mary's Tuesday before heading to Davis for 3 conference games then down to UCLA on March 29th, catch all the games on ucsbgauchos.com.

Gauchos win streak moves to 5 games after a 3-win week after defeating LMU at home on Tuesday and taking both games from UC San Diego in Lake Elsinore. This week are are joined by Head Coach Andrew Checketts (28:02) who breaks down the first quarter of the season as the Gauchos improved to 10-4 on the year. UCSB bounces back to split the series with the Oregon Ducks after 2 huge wins in the final 2 games. In a tightly contested series where the games were decided by a grand total of 5 runs the Gauchos came through with clutch hitting and outstanding bullpen efforts. We have game highlights plus interviews with Assistant Coach Dylan Jones and 2 Freshman heroes, Zander Darby and Matt Ager, plus a weekend recap. Gauchos sit at 7-4 overall after week 3.

UCSB takes 2 of 3 from Nevada on opening weekend at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium and after an outstanding performance on the mound Cory Lewis wins BigWest Pitcher of the Week! 6ip 0h 0r 11k. We are also joined by Kyle Johnson for the second week in a row after KJ went 5-15 with 2 doubles a homer and 4rbi. Finally Spencer Stewart stops by to drop some numbers from the week and say his farewell before heading off to join the Boston Red Sox Organization, congrats Stew!

Opening day is less than 2 weeks away so we decided to bring on 3 first year Gauchos the gauge their excitement. INF Zander Darby, OF LeTrey McCollum, and INF Justin Trimble are talented Freshman who will play important roles during the 2022 season. In this hour long interview we get to know these young Gauchos and get a glimpse of how much they have already learned while at UCSB.
